The Evening After The Night Before…

Category : Shows

Welcome along to a new Double ‘A’ Side on Storm FM! This weeks show was full of cheesy music, courtesy of me (Ali) picking the majority of today’s playlist, stories from last night’s Storm Awards (congrats again to all the winners), some brand new music and the usual weather report from Andy.

Weather: Sunday: heavy rain, 13degrees Monday: sunny, 14degrees Tuesday: grey cloud, possible showers, 14degrees Wednesday: light rain, 16degrees. Outlook for next weekend is looking good.

We, as mentioned above, played some brand new music, possibly never before played on radio, courtesy of the band Maia from Huddersfield Uni. Describing themselves as ‘Acoustic Fusion Folk’ they formed through a ‘passionate love of good music’. If you liked what you heard you can find them on Facebook (just search Maia), Myspace (www.myspace.com/maiatheband) and their debut, self-titled album is currently available to download on iTunes.

We also gave a quick run-down of who won what at last night’s Storm Awards. Congratulations to all those who won awards and commiserations to all those who just missed out. A great night was had by all who attended the night; roll on next year’s awards! :)

Playlist:

  • Paolo Nutini – New Shoes
  • Yazoo – Only You
  • Katy Perry – I Kissed A Girl
  • Avril Lavigne – Sk8r Boi
  • Maia – Fossil Minds
  • B*Witched – Blame It On The Weatherman

Thanks for listening and tune in again next week for another hour of cheesy music and random chat. :)

Half an hour longer and so much better….
