Birth of the Ice-Shadow…

Category : Shows

Inspired by this film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5mxBaXHcFw (Warning, clip contains violence & swearing) this morning was all about Superheroes.

We discussed the Spider-Man reboot and in particular the new costume: http://www.rwdmag.com/2011/01/first-look-at-the-new-spider-man-costume/ as well as the upcoming X-Men First Class: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4_ra9VneUc

Alongside some heroic music (I can’t get enough of this one!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iV-L14ReUsE ) we asked for cool superhero names. With your suggestions and a little help from http://www.worldsuperheroregistry.com/ The ICE-SHADOW was born.

Meanwhile… The following picture began to circulate on the Internet. Could this be the mysterious ICE-SHADOW?

Could this be The Ice Shadow?

The French Resistance never Happened!

Category : Shows

Wait? What???? The French Resistance never happened? Well it did… just not in the way we all imagine. Apparently it was all a little bit exagerated by De Gaul.
Who’d have thought? Shocking.
In case you haven’t guessed we were talking about France This Morning. We discussed the Hunchback of Notre Dame
and it’s incredibly violent ending (without spoilers.), Pondered the whereabouts of Dawn French (Seriously… She used to be everywhere!) and also looked at holiday prices to Paris.

Breakfast-
Every weekday morning from 9:00

Another Cracker!

Category : Shows

That’s right, tonight show was another cracker of a show with some very big tunes.

Thanks to lasts nights Brit awards, we had a very “Brit” feel to the show. We kicked off with some classic British alternative with Ian Brown and Blur and this theme continued throughout then night. Tonight we discussed the Brit award winners such as Rhianna, Plan B, Tinie Tempah and Arcade Fire.
We also gave our listeners release information on Katy B, Rise Against and also Album of the month The Vaccines.

The Forum a new time and a new presenter

Category : Shows

If you tuned in yesterday at 6.00 and couldn’t find The Forum, don’t worry we have not disappeared from Storm!

We now have a new time and slot of Wednesdays at 6.00.

We also have a new presenter in the form of Nicole Nally and she certainly proved that she can fit straight in on The Forum.

The show this week covered the confusion of what was happening with the removal of Bangor’s police hub. Hopefully we put some of your worries at rest, as the changes won’t affect the service we get from our 999 calls and Bangor police station is certainly NOT closing.

We also looked at the protests in the Middle East and as promised here are some of the links to the websites we were looking at

 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-12482313

For a look at the country by country facts and updates on what is happening in the Middle East

http://www.transparency.org/policy_research/surveys_indices/cpi/2010/results

and this link is for the transparency index map.

We closed the show by having a quick discussion about the trouble Italian Prime minister Berlusconi has got himself in with him being accused of paying a 17yr old for sex

Tune in next week at 6.00 on Wednesday and remember to get in Contact, it’s your student Forum to air the issues affecting you!
