Welcome to TV Talk’s first ever blog! Hope everyone enjoyed the show, I know I did, talking about tv for an hour is my idea of fun! In case you didn’t catch the show or wanted a recap of what we talked about, I’ll give you a quick rundown of all the great things that have been on this week, and how to catch up on them, and what’s coming up in the next week.

For starters we have the soaps, first off there’s Eastenders (my favourite) and all the drama goings on in Albert Square. Things have finally hotted up between Stacey and Ryan, but if the rumours I’ve heard are true, Janine will be planning some very evil revenge on them. Elsewhere on the square, Jane and Masood’s romantic get away didn’t quite go to plan when both realised they would be making a big mistake, and Glenda is getting her filthy paws on the elder gentlemen of Walford.

It’s a big week for Coronation Street, the soap will be celebrating their 50th anniversary, and to commemorate this special event, they have a very exciting line up planned for the coming week. There will be at least one episode each weeknight, including two on Monday and Friday as normal, but the most exciting part is the hour-long live episode on Thursday! Everyone knows by now that there will be a tram crashing onto the street, but it’s not known for sure which characters will be facing the pearly gates of soap heaven. I’ve even heard a rumour that there might be a wee murder….

As well as the actual soap, ITV will be showing the very first episode of the show on Monday at 8pm, on Tuesday and Thursday there will be a special show called Coronation Street: 50 Years, 50 Moments, an epic rundown of the best bits over the years. On Friday there will be a celebrity quiz hosted by Paul O’Grady, packed with comedy sketches and Corrie-themed musical performances. Even Channel 4 is getting in on the act, with a Corrie Come Dine With Me special. All in all, you can’t help but catch some of what’s on this week, but it’s definitely worth a viewing in my opinion, it’s not often a much loved soap turns 50 is it!

How about some lovely reality shows for mains? Getting everyone in a bit of a tizzy this week was X Factor, or more precisely Wagner and Katie. Every week Wagner sails into the next round, infuriating the judges and the other contestants, but for some rather comic reason, the viewers wanted him in. On the other hand, the viewers were desperately trying to get rid of Katie, but the judges seemed determined to keep her in as long as possible. Finally this week, both left the competition in a double eviction, and now some are saying the competition can finally begin.

Back on our screens is I’m a Celebrity, and isn’t it just lovely having Ant and Dec back poking fun at the fame hungry celebs? Who doesn’t love a good Bushtucker Trial and constant fainting? Yes, I’m talking about Gillian McKeith. Whatever your opinion on her perfectly timed fainting, you can’t deny it’s been entertaining. It’s the final next week, who will you be voting for?

We can’t forget a little dessert, have you all been watching Misfits? The TV Talk show LOVES Misfits, and our aim is to convert everyone! Get on 4OD right now and watch it if you haven’t seen it, as it’s by far one of the best shows on tv right now, and it would be a real shame if you missed out. The identity of the masked man was finally revealed as Simon, which came as a huge shock to everyone. But make sure to catch up on all of it to understand our ramblings on next weeks show when we gossip all about it!

As I’m sure your all aware, all the main channels have catch up services, where you can watch all the above shows in the comfort of your own room even if you don’t have a telly. Just in case you get lost in cyber space, here are the links :)

Thanks for reading my ramblings on all things telly, and hope you’ll be listening to the show next week.
