Raised in the harsh Scottish city of Glasgow, Sir Alex has raised himself from a skinny forward plying his trade for Queen of the South to the manager of one of the greatest football teams in the world, Manchester United. Whilst making a name for himself in Scotland with Aberdeen, winning the SPL twice and also bringing European success to Pittodrie, he was noticed by many teams south of the border. Wolves and Tottenham were acquitted with having interest in the young manager but when Manchester United eventually came knocking, he saw an opportunity he could not turn down. His task, to break the dominance in English football held by fierce rivals Liverpool. Since, the Glaswegian has never looked back and has won an array with a titles and trophies with an ever impressive outfit of players. The likes of Bruce, Hughes, Ince, Giggs, Keane, Neville, Scholes, Beckham, Ronaldo and Rooney have graced the red shirt of Manchester under Ferguson’s guidance and played a part of Sir Alex’s campaign to make Manchester United the greatest team in world football and eventually over-throwing Liverpool as the most successful club in English football.
