Biscuit Hit The Deck!

Category : Shows

Yesterday was the big day, the day I’ve waiting for near on a month or so. Thats right it was Hit The Deck day, my musical highlight of the year so far as you may have guessed from the constant mentions during the show. I decided I’d do a little review for each of the bigger acts that I went to see. As this was a one day festival it was the best way to find some new music and acts I didn’t necessarily know about or have any experience of, hence why these are good reviews and I didn’t bother with the bad ones.

Easter Warmup Party

Category : Shows

So tonight Biscuit decided that the past few shows had been lacking in the amount of Dance and Drum and Bass that they had been playing and so declared tonight as a sort of Easter warm up party, playing out more DnB, Dance and Dubstep than usual.

Biscuit also covered his movie plans for easter such as trying to view all of the following films in the three weeks he will be home: Source Code, Sucker Punch, Limitless, Just Go With It, Tommorow: When the ware began, Unknown, Fast5 and Pirate of the Caribbean 4, Your Highness, The Green Lantern and Thor. Some challenge for both time and money inside of 3 weeks, will he manage it?
Find out when we return Wednesday 4th May!

Jakes On The Deck

Category : Shows

So this week Biscuit decided it only fair to let Jake play with the sliders and dials and take over the main role for a bit, share the burden and all.

We played out some overdue requests and some fresh ones, played some dubstep to try and help Biscuits views on the genre, learnt about Biscuits favourite genre of music and also chatted on the fund-raising happening around Bangor last week for Comic Relief and up coming events for the Red Cross to aid in the Japan disasters. We also played Heist single “Pray For Japan” which has been released for free download in the hope that those who do so will give the money instead to the red cross via their JustGiving page.

The show detailed a lot of upcoming StormFM events for Comic Relief, chatted on Biscuits in studio dancing and singing and tried to help all of you listeners out there working gain the motivation to carry on!

Another Cracker!

Category : Shows

That’s right, tonight show was another cracker of a show with some very big tunes.

Thanks to lasts nights Brit awards, we had a very “Brit” feel to the show. We kicked off with some classic British alternative with Ian Brown and Blur and this theme continued throughout then night. Tonight we discussed the Brit award winners such as Rhianna, Plan B, Tinie Tempah and Arcade Fire.
We also gave our listeners release information on Katy B, Rise Against and also Album of the month The Vaccines.

A bit of change

Category : Shows

So on tonight’s show we decided that after around a year that we fancied a new bed for our links. We tested out the likes of Gotta Be Somebody, Hysteria, The Excorist, Club Foot, Money and Tainted love. We finally never did decide so check back next week and we may have some more ideas.

Also Jake made it known that a friends relative had compared Biscuit to a movie star. We decided to open this up to our listeners to help guess as to who it could be before Jake finally announced it at the end of the show. Good opinions included: Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey Jr, Stan Laurel and Hugh Grant. (Biscuit was pleased with these.) Other not so great ideas were: George Michael, Lassie. (Biscuit wasn’t so happy.) It was finally revealed to be a wind up and apparently the relative did believe Biscuit looked like Lassie….
